As a child, I played in my Grandmother’s flower garden, cavorting with the breezes, the colors, and the fertile fantasy life I found therein. My love of color,
of flowers, and how those forces can impact one very favorably took root there!
I’ve carried my love of color forward into my life’s work and it is the cornerstone on which I have built my feng shui practice. I employ many factors in a
feng shui consultation, and color is one of the most effective.
My “past life” was as an interior designer. I spent 25 years designing interiors for others to live and work in. Over time, I realized what I really loved was working
with color and space. I loved getting things to feel “just right” and knew intuitively when that occurred.
About midlife I “woke up” to many truths, among which was realizing that my career could feed my soul. That was when I shifted my focus to feng shui and color.
Through my design years, the talented and knowledgeable Carlton Wagner taught me that color was actually its own language and that color reacted with our bodies
and our brains. It substantiated my knowing as a child: color has gentle, subtle power.
Later, I found teachers on color and healing, color and consultations, color and color response. I took every class I could find and in the middle of all this,
I found my feng shui teacher, Nancilee Wydra, founder of the Feng Shui Institute of America (FSIA) and the Pyramid School of Feng Shui. I studied hard on both fronts
and earned my professional certification at FSIA, the International Academy of Colour Therapeutics (IACT) in England, and Colorworks
International. I am now a certified member of the faculties for both FSIA and IACT. I also serve as the color specialist for FSIA
and am an active member of their practitioner group, the Feng Shui Institute International (FSII).
During these last few years I have been so blessed, and Spirit continues to lead me in new directions. I have written books and created products I never even
dreamed about. (I hope you will peruse the environmental sprays for Feng Shui and color, as well as the books. These products were divinely guided and given.)
I believe strongly in giving back to the world. These past few years, my husband and I have been able to get my children’s book
published, a fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The proceeds all go to Big Brothers Big Sisters to provide matches for “Bigs” and “Littles.”
Sandra Carson of Chicago did the delightful images pro bono as well. It is a great gift for children, baby showers, holiday gifts or
“just because.”
Each year my husband and I volunteer at Camp Sunshine in Maine, a camp for critically ill children and their families. To my knowledge, it is
the only camp in the country that takes in the entire family at no expense to them other than traveling to the facility. We always return tired, but with far more than
we gave.
I also support The Hunger Project, which seeks to empower women worldwide in their quest to find a sustainable end to hunger. Dollar for dollar,
the Hunger Project gets more done than any group I know of. I love the focus on empowering women, especially those who live in places where, when you knock on a door and a woman is
there alone, she is impelled to say, “there is no one here.” Helping women in such situations receive support and an identity is such a gift.
In addition, I donate to the Nature Conservancy as my primary stand for the environment. I’ve recycled since 1971, often going far out of my
way to do so. Before I had a car, I used my children's’ red wagon and walked my recycling up to the center carrying a baby on my back and pushing two others in a stroller.
(Kind of like walking to school barefoot uphill both ways in the knee-deep snow!)
As you can tell, I go with what I am passionate about: color, space and energy, people, the betterment of our lives, living lightly on the earth, and supporting
those who have less.
In 1996, I founded Life Potentials Network. Its purpose is to empower, support, and nurture my clients and their dreams. Life is grand and I have
been so blessed with its gifts. I truly love my work and love to share with my clients and students.
I welcome you to this circle of giving and receiving!
